Agency relationships describe the type of
relationship you will share with your real estate professional once
you begin working with them.
THREE TYPES OF AGENCY
BUYER'S AGENT: the agent represents
the buyer through the entire home buying process and has certain fiduciary
responsibilities during this relationship. These include representing
the buyer's interests and exercising care, loyalty, and confidentiality
throughout the process.
SELLER'S AGENT: the agent represents the seller
through the entire selling process and has certain fiduciary responsibilities
during this relationship. The agent will also work to locate a buyer
and negotiate the transaction while serving the interests of the seller.
DISCLOSED DUAL AGENT: the agent
represents both the interests of the buyer and the seller throughout
the same transaction.
